Ammonia cold storages electrical panel are often complex and large switchboards. Due to the fact that the ammonia compressors currently in use usually have a larger input power than conventional Freon compressors and there are more refrigeration units in ammonia systems, the total electrical power of these electrical panels is high. As a result, the power circuit of these panels has protection switches and larger copper busbars than the electrical panels of Freon systems. In design, ammonia system electrical panels are usually considered as standing cells. The control circuits of these panels are also much more complex than Freon panels. In the typical structure of an ammonia refrigeration switchboard, pressures, liquid surfaces and temperatures at several points of the cooling process are set, analyzed and controlled. Freon systems electrical panel

Freon refrigeration switchboards usually have simpler circuits and smaller dimensions than any other refrigeration switchboards. The steering circuits also control the refrigeration temperature and compressor pressures.
